The process is in motion but not much has happened in the three months since the U.S. Air Force announced Jacksonville’s Air National Guard as one of 18 bases in the running to house a fleet of F-35A Joint Strike Fighter Lightning II aircraft.
All the questions about the facility have been answered and submitted, now it’s just a waiting game, said Maj. Jonathan Kassebaum, an F-15 pilot with the Florida Air National Guard’s 125th Fighter Wing in Jacksonville.
