The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has terminated a probationary officer who had been working in that role for about two weeks after he was arrested Thursday by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Officers served a warrant for Billy Roy Taylor, 43, and arrested him on a charge of sexual battery on a minor younger than 12, according to a Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
The details of the crime were not listed in the report, but a statement from Fish and Wildlife indicated it’s not from a recent incident.
