Jacksonville man arrested after Times-Union reporter receives call threatening to bomb next HRO meeting

A 25-year-old Jacksonville man was arrested Friday after a Florida Times-Union reporter received a message Thursday night threatening an attack on a Human Rights Ordinance meeting.

The caller left a voicemail saying a meeting planned for Dec. 3 at Edward Waters College to discuss the city’s possible HRO would be bombed, police said.

The meeting on whether Jacksonville should add LGBT people to the city’s anti-discrimination laws is the second of three scheduled community conversations on the topic.
