Wreckage found on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean on Saturday near the last know location of the El Faro cargo ship is believed to be the vessel that sank Oct. 1 in Hurricane Joaquin, according the National Transportation Safety Board.
The wreckage was located just after 1:30 p.m. using a side-scanning sonar system on board the U.S. Navy Ship Apache.
The images were found during the fifth of 13 planned search lines.
The vessel was located in about 15,000 feet of water and is consistent with a 790-foot cargo ship, according to the NTSB.
