A 28-year-old Jacksonville man who was shot in the leg by an officer during a Christmas Eve 2014 burglary at a liquor store was sentenced to 25 years in prison Thursday, according to the State Attorney’s Office.
Michael Kevin Hollis pleaded guilty last week to armed robbery while wearing a hood or mask, possession of a firearm or weapon by a felon and possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis.
Hollis had an assault rifle and a scoped rifle when he was shot about 2:30 a.m. at the Gate Liquors at 9929 Lem Turner Road, police said. Both weapons belonged to the store owner.
