About an hour before a blaze gutted a Ponte Vedra Beach condominium building Monday, a resident made several calls warning about the smell of smoke, according to 911 recordings released Tuesday.
The woman called to report the smell of fire in her building three times early Monday morning. She was told the firefighters came and didn’t find anything to extinguish.
Eventually, a fire tore through the 20-unit building, displacing 15 families and injuring a resident and a firefighter.
