A 38-year-old Jacksonville man was given a life prison term Tuesday for shooting a man to death at an apartment complex in 2008, according to the State Attorney’s Office.
David Vernard Murphy was sentenced to life in prison for second-degree murder and 30 years in prison for second-degree attempted murder, according to the State Attorney’s Office. He was convicted in May, and the sentences will run consecutively.
