Two people were shot Thursday outside a grocery store on Jacksonville’s Westside, but both are expected to survive, police said.
The two were standing outside Tanner’s on Hipps Road about 2:20 p.m. when the shooter approached from around a corner and started firing, Sgt. Matt Russell said.
He said the shooter fled south on Bunion Drive and it’s unclear if there was a getaway vehicle.
One victim is a 17-year-old female and the other a 24-year-old male, Russell said. One was shot in the arm and the other the abdomen.
