A 52-year-old Jacksonville man faces a mandatory life sentence after he was convicted Thursday for sexually abusing a child starting when the victim was 6 years old, according to the State Attorney’s Office.
James Robert Gallagher was found guilty of lewd or lascivious molestation and two counts of sexual battery, according to the State Attorney’s Office.
Authorities learned in August 2014 that Gallagher sexually abused the child multiple times, prosecutors said. The child is now 13.
