Authorities in St. Johns County treated a man who suffered injuries from a possible lightning strike Saturday while he was standing in ankle-deep water in the Atlantic Ocean, according to multiple agencies.
Rescue workers responded to the 6000 block of Florida A1A South in Crescent Beach about 5:40 p.m. after the lightning strike was reported, said Jeremy Robshaw, spokesman for St. Johns County Fire Rescue.
Robshaw said the lightning strike was not confirmed but rescue workers treated the victim at the scene.
