Authorities are investigating after a 3-year-old boy was found unresponsive in a home on Jacksonville's Westside on Tuesday night before he was revived by rescue workers and taken to a hospital in life-threatening condition.
Rescue crews responded to the home in the 4400 block of Woodmere Street near Roosevelt Boulevard about 7:45 p.m. after a man reported the situation, Sgt. Chuck Ford said.
He said the man who found the child unresponsive is the boy's father figure but it's unclear if he is related by blood.
