A man is dead and a second is in life-threatening condition after a fiery crash on Jacksonville's Westside on Saturday afternoon.
Several people frantically called 911 just after 2 p.m. after witnessing a Mazda sport-utility vehicle speeding southbound on Roosevelt Boulevard before slamming into a Toyota Avalon at Long Bow Road, Lt. Michael Eason said.
He said the Toyota was attempting to turn left from the northbound lanes and it looks like the driver misjudged how fast the SUV was going.
