A 40-year-old pedestrian died Thursday after he was hit by a pickup truck while walking on the shoulder of U.S. 1 in St. Augustine, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Jefferey Scott Gibby of St. Augustine was walking south on the shoulder near Gun Club Road when he was struck by a Ford F-150 that drifted off the road about 1:25 p.m., according to the Highway Patrol.
He was taken to a hospital where he died.
Garry Allen Pelfrey, 42, of Macclenny was driving the Ford, according to the FHP.
