A deputy with the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office was fired Tuesday night and arrested on drug trafficking charges, Sheriff Bill Leeper said.
Stuart James Raulerson, 38, was charged with conspiracy to engage in trafficking hydrocodone and sale of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church or school, Leeper said.
He said the Sheriff’s Office learned Raulerson was selling prescription medication and there was enough evidence to fire the deputy although the investigation is ongoing.
Jail records indicate Raulerson was released from jail Tuesday night.
