A 62-year-old Keystone Heights woman died Tuesday morning after she drove through a stop sign in Bradford County and was hit by a semi, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Peggy Barker Niemczenia was northbound on County Road 21B in a Kia Rio when she ran the stop sign at Florida 100 about 8:40 a.m., according to the Highway Patrol.
James Patrick Smith, 49, of Donalsonville, Ga. was eastbound in the semi at the time of the crash, according to the FHP.
The type of semi and whether it was hauling anything is unclear from the FHP report but Smith was not injured.
