Following the terror attack in Paris over the weekend, a previously planned lecture on Middle East strategy by retired U.S. Army General John Abizaid took on added importance Tuesday night.
A crowd of nearly 1,000 people gathered at the University of North Florida to hear Abizaid. His message was clear: The crisis in Europe is a global issue and the United States is going to have to be an instrumental part in solving the problems in that part of the world.
“They [ISIS] are prepared to fight for a long time and they believe they have an upper hand,” Abizaid said.
