Boy, 12, flown to hospital in life-threatening condition after getting hit by car in Middleburg

A 12-year-old Middleburg boy was airlifted to a hospital in life-threatening condition after he was struck by a car Thursday afternoon on County Road 218 in Clay County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Locke Gaddis stepped into the intersection at Isis Street about 3:40 p.m. and was hit by an eastbound Ford Mustang driven by 55-year-old Cindy Z. Taylor of Middleburg, according to the Highway Patrol.

Gaddis was taken to a hospital in life-threatening condition and Taylor was not injured, according to the FHP.
