The Regency Square mall in Jacksonville was evacuated Tuesday night after an anonymous caller told mall management a bomb was going to be detonated in the food court, police said.
Management received a call about 6:40 p.m. from an unknown caller who said a bomb would be “ignited” in the food court, Sgt. Terry Jones said.
He said the person called back a short time later and said the bomb was about to be “detonated.”
All the stores in the mall were evacuated along with the entire food court so that bomb-sniffing dogs could search for a device, Jones said.
