Police have identified a man found dead in Jacksonville Thursday near railroad tracks as a 45-year-old who was last seen by family members Monday.
Charles Edward Brown of the 3100 block of Third Street Circle was found dead near a retention pond in the 5000 block of Spring Grove Avenue, police said.
A train operator spotted the body lying on the north side of the tracks and alerted authorities.
Brown’s family had reported him missing earlier in the day but they had not seen him since he left his residence Monday about 11:50 p.m., police said.
