A former Navy sailor who was convicted in the death of his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son was sentenced to life in prison Thursday, according to the State Attorney’s Office.
Nicholas James Rivet, 37, was convicted of second-degree murder in June for the death of Eddie Robb.
Rivet told Brandi Robb her son was unresponsive in January 2010 and the child was taken to UF Health Jacksonville where he died a few days later. It was determined the boy died as a result of abusive head trauma, prosecutors said.
