Two families were displaced by a fire at an apartment complex on Jacksonville’s Southside Thursday night, according to the Northeast Florida chapter of the American Red Cross.
A total of five people were given money for food and taken to a hotel for the night after the fire burned through units at the Evergreen Club Apartments on Southbrook Drive, said Amber Bierfreund, spokeswoman for the Red Cross.
It took about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze, according to WJXT TV-4.
