A Jacksonville man died Saturday morning when he was hit by a southbound vehicle on Interstate 295 after losing control of a motorcycle on the entrance ramp from Butler Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Bret Warren Castleberry, 43, lost control of the Yamaha V Star on the ramp to the southbound lanes of I-295 and slid down the embankment about 5:30 a.m., according to the Highway Patrol.
The driver of the sport-utility vehicle did not stop after hitting Castleberry, according to the FHP. The SUV was a dark color.
Castleberry was wearing a helmet.
