A 56-year-old Jacksonville man who stabbed a taxi driver with two knives and stole $17 from him in 2014 was sentenced to life in prison Friday, according to the State Attorney’s Office.
Kenneth Karleston Newsome was previously convicted of first-degree attempted murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.
He was sentenced to life for attempted murder and 40 years each for kidnapping and armed robbery, according to the State Attorney’s Office. The sentences will run consecutively.
